As entertaining as Sienna and Katrina's fight was, Alex was excited to finally begin practicing magic. He looked up at the spell he was supposed to practice. It was a flame freezing spell. Alex went over to the equipment for practicing and took a lit candle. He set it to the side and stared at the flame. Okay, how hard could this possibly be?
He lined his wand up with the flame and flicked it.
"Ardo glacio"
The flame continued to flicker. But just to be sure Alex ran his hand through it. He pulled it back quickly. Yup, not frozen.

Anthony laughed and shook his head as Katrina stood up and went after Sienna with full force. That girl had spirit, that was for sure. It was a good thing she wasn't in Slytherin or there would be another Sienna running around the halls in a few years. Finally, the professor decided to start class. Anthony wasn't a huge fan of her, she seemed to laid back to be a professor.
After she explained what to do, he followed the rest and made is way to his section. There was steps setting there which confused Anthony. He quickly glanced back at the board seeing they had to do glisseo. He had no idea what glisseo was. So much for reading everything before class. He took a step back, waiting to see if anyone else was willing to try the spell first.

(already here)
Jie was entirely caught up in the fight. He didn't know who the students were but he did know that one was in his house. Something that started with an S. Sierra or Sarah or something. He didn't really care. Jie didn't really like anyone from his house. At least he hadn't met anyone he liked yet. His father was constantly talking about the importance in networking. So he knew that one day soon he was going to need to begin making "friends." But he'll worry about that later.
After the professor had finished speaking, he looked up at the spell he was supposed to learn. Jie grinned. Lumos was an easy one.
Speaking with confidence, "Lumos."
Nothing happened. He shook his wand really hard but what that was supposed to accomplish, he didn't know.

Ailey grinned at the kitten before turning and taking a seat. Professor Moore was her favorite teacher by far. She was so kind and caring. Not even when Sienna was picking a fight with a first year did she get mad. Following everyone else, Ailey took a place with the other third years. When it was her turn, she raised her wand at the dummy.
"Expelliarmus."
A wand did go flying out of a hand, but it was Ailey's wand that was in her hand. She frowned and stepped back, unsure if she wanted to try again.
