News travels very quickly at Hogwarts and it didn't take very long for the particular news to spread concerning the new Professor. Many people felt a little uncertain about him. He did seem to keep to himself already. But Kian thought that he might just be a bit shy. He remembered, himself, what it was like to be new. So he decided to take it upon himself to welcome the new guy.
He went to knock on Javier's door but finding it already open, he quietly peeked his head inside. The office was rather bare but perhaps Javier was still unpacking. At the moment he was sitting at his desk, reading a large, ancient-looking book.
"Hi...um, hello. If you're not too busy, I was just hoping to introduce myself...since we'll be working together and all of that."

It seemed Archer had beaten Kian to the punch. With no classes in the morning, Archer found himself sitting in the Muggle Studies' classroom with Javier. From what he could tell he liked the guy. Most of the other guy professors were younger very active guys. None of which had many stories and adventures to tell like Archer had. He was glad there was a professor more similar to him than these other guys.
He had only been there for less than a half an hour when Kian poked his head in. Archer smiled and nodded his head. He wondering when the rest were going to show up.

Javier was not overly fond of company. In fact, if he could just simply teach his class everyday and disappear in between, he would be very happy. However, he couldn't just ignore the other professors. He needed to at least act interested in getting to know them.
Archer was the first professor to venture to his class. Javier instantly disliked him. The man seemed to smart for his own good. And you can't trust someone who was too smart. But he didn't want to let on that he disliked him.
When Kian had peeked into the room, Javier was in the middle of a very long-winded (and completely untrue) story of the time he was attacked by an angry erumpent and had barely managed to escape with his life.
Javier smiled and beckoned him in.
"Of course, not at all. Come in and join us."
He swished his wand and another chair appeared.
"I was just telling Professor Strele here about my trip to Uganda last summer. I managed to anger one very large erumpent. The poor guide I was with was run through and exploded before I could even pull my wand out. It was absolutely dreadful."

Kian hesitated briefly in the doorway. He really hadn't expected to see Archer there and it certainly threw him off. But the hesitation was only temporary. He walked in with a confident air and took the offered seat.
"An erumpent? That had to have been something."
He held out his hand.
"Oh, before I forget. I'm Kian Ross. I teach Transfiguration."

Erumpents are always an adventure. Though luckily, I've only ran into one, once before."
Archer stated, trying to keep the conversation going before Kian introduced himself. Archer liked the guy. He taught one of the more important subjects. Muggle studies was far from an important subject compared to Transfiguration and DADA. However, Archer was going to keep his mouth shut about it around Javier.
