Kian had arrived early to class to set it up for his first lesson of the year. He loved teaching Transfiguration. As it was a very hands-on subject, it always seemed to lead to fun classes.
On each desk sat a either a small metal birdcage or an empty vase. The lesson for the day would have the students either conjuring birds or flowers.
On the blackboard he had written Gamp's Law for Elemental Transfiguration.
Putting his feet up on his desk, Kian waited for the arrival of the first students.

Christian stopped in the doorway of his Transfiguration class. He was sorely tempted to leave again and return a little later just so he wouldn't be the first in class. Slytherins were not supposed to even appear eager to learn.
Realizing that the Professor probably already saw him, he sighed and entered the room. He nodded a greeting before taking a seat near the back of the room.

Knowing this was going to be an almost empty class, he decided to take the risk and sit off to the side away from Christian. Christian wanted nothing to do with Anthony and Anthony wanted nothing to do with him. But if he did try anything, Anthony was taller and stronger than the little Slytherin.

Now here was a real subject. And perhaps the most useful one too. Rowena loved this class. The subject was just the right amount of challenging and interesting. And it certainly didn't hurt that the Professor was gorgeous.
As Rowena entered the room, she threw a charming smile at the Professor before taking a seat next to Anthony. She looked at the cages and the vases that were on the desks.
She leaned towards Anthony. "What do you think? Conjuring things today, maybe?" She couldn't wait for the lesson to start.

"Conjuration is possibly the hardest branch of Transfiguration. So I expect all of you to play close attention. There are different spells for just about everything that you may want to conjure. Today we are going to focus on two. Avis and Orchideous."
Kian tapped his wand at an empty bird cage.
"Avis."
It instantly filled with small chittering blue birds. He then tapped his wand at an empty vase.
"Orchideous."
It filled with large purple flowers.
"You may begin at any time. Please do not mix up your spells. I do not want a room full of birds. Any questions, feel free to ask."

Christian decided to try avis first. He said the spell to himself quietly to make sure he had it right. Then he tapped his empty cage.
"Avis."
A poof of feathers shot out of his wand. He reached in and pulled a handful out. Nope, no bird. Just feathers. Christian sighed. But at least he was on the right track.
