Kian had arrived early to class to set it up for his first lesson of the year. He loved teaching Transfiguration. As it was a very hands-on subject, it always seemed to lead to fun classes.
On each desk sat a small box pricked with little holes. Inside the boxes were the snails that the students would be practicing vanishing on.
On the blackboard he had written Gamp's Law for Elemental Transfiguration and below that the spell for Vanishment, Evanesco.
Putting his feet up on his desk, Kian waited for the arrival of the first students.

After seeing what the class what, Sienna felt disappointed and almost didn't want to go to class. What fun was the class going to be without Christian or any younger students. Instead she was forced to be with others of her age and most likely not her house. Angry she sat down and glared at the professor.

"Just you and me?"
Julien said to Sienna taking a seat by her. His voice was heavy with a spanish accent today. Some days were better than others but he didn't mind the least bit.

Cosette frowned when she entered her Transfiguration class. She was friends with Julien but she couldn't stand Sienna.
She took a seat next to Julien. She whispered so Sienna couldn't hear her. "You zink we could transfigure 'er into somezing?"

Transfiguration was a subject that captivated her, changing a physical form? It was one of the things she wanted to understand. There was a few students in the class but like her usual self she decided to sit apart from them. Mae glanced at the board trying to deduce some kind of previous knowledge but she couldn’t remember anything regarding Gimps Law but for some reason or another the spell seemed familiar, maybe all those trips to the library were paying off?

Sienna perked up when she heard someone seemed to be talking about her. Glancing over she noticed the blonde Hufflepuff making some remark about transfiguring.
"How about I transfigure you into a hairless puffskein. That way you at least look better then you do now."

"Miss Rays, if you could direct your attention at me, we may begin."
Kian knew Sienna well enough by now to know that she had a tendency to cause trouble. If he was able to knock that out before it started, it would make the rest of the class a whole lot easier.
"No one here is knew so I shouldn't need to go over Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. Everyone should have that so well memorized that you guys should be saying it in your sleep. So I'm going to skip that. What we are doing today is Vanishment."
Kian opened a box and pulled out the snail.
"Watch closely."
He tapped the shell with his wand.
"Evanesco."
The snail disappeared.
"You may begin."

Cosette was about to respond to Sienna when the Professor began class. Frowning, she turned her attention on him. Vanishment? That seemed really hard. After he was finished speaking, she looked at her snail. Eww...it was leaving a trail of slime as it made its way around the box. Why do they have to work with such gross things.
Sighing, she pulled out her wand. She tapped the snail.
"Evanesco."
Nothing happened.
"Evanesco."
Still nothing happened. Cosette tapped it harder.
"EVANESCO."
Her snailed turned a pale shade of pink.

Sienna gave an innocent smile to the professor when he called her out. Luckily for him, Christian wasn't in the class, otherwise it would have been a complete other story. In fact, today she was in a rather good mood. It could be really useful to learn about vanishment. Glancing to the side, she laughed at Cosette's look of disgust. Turning back to her snail, she pulled out her wand.
"Evenesco,"
The snail did not vanish, nor did any spell leave her wand. Instead a few green sparks flew out. Maybe she wasn't saying it right.
"Evanesco"
This time the snail did vanish but only for a second before it appeared again. Frustrated, Sienna set down her wand and crossed her arms.
