Kian had arrived early to class to set it up for his first lesson of the year. He loved teaching Transfiguration. As it was a very hands-on subject, it always seemed to lead to fun classes.
On each desk sat a small box pricked with little holes. A scurrying sound came from each one. Inside the boxes were small mice.
On the blackboard he had written Gamp's Law for Elemental Transfiguration.
Putting his feet up on his desk, Kian waited for the arrival of the first students.

Alex could hardly wait for his Transfiguration class to begin. It was his best subject, his favorite Professor, and certainly his favorite class.
As he arrived, first as usual, he quickly slid into a seat. He looked at the box sitting at his desk. A strange scurrying sound came from it. Alex peered into one of the holes. A mouse! He grinned. This was going to be a fun class.

Ailey let out a small scream as she heard the distinct sound of a mouse in the box on the desk she sat at. She scooted her chair back and folded her arms. No way she was going to touch that thing. She just hoped they would transfigure it into something nice like a bunny.

Katrina loved the idea of Transfiguration despite it seeming to be a hard subject. To her that just meant that it was just that much more important to learn. And she was determined to do well in it. In fact, she was determined to do well in all of her subjects. Her family depended upon it.
Arriving in class, she took a seat near Alex and Ailey. She nudged her box and heard quick scurrying around. She grinned.
Leaning towards Ailey, she whispered, "How cool is this? We get to actually transfigure something."

"Alright! That's enough waiting. Let's begin."
Kian jumped up. It looked like it was going to be small class this year.
"Looks like there's only going to be a few of us but that's just fine. We'll just have more fun that way. Gamp's Elemental Law of Transfiguration. I suggest each of you memorize it because it will be haunting you the rest of your lives."
Kian went to the nearest desk and picked up the mice that was inside the box. He held it up for the class to see.
"Watch closely."
With that he set the mouse down on the desk. He gently tapped it with his wand.
"Lapifors."
The mouse changed into a small rabbit.
"Okay, now I want all of you to try. No one is leaving this class until their mouse has long ears and a fluffy tail. If you accidentally lose your mouse, I have extras."

(Jie was already here...he was just hiding ) Jie inwardly groaned at the thought of having to memorize Gamp's Law. But he would worry about that later. For now, he wrote it down carefully in his notebook. After that was finished, he turned his attention to his box of mouse. Before opening it, he gave the box a quick shake. A frantic scurrying sound came from inside. Grinning he pulled off the lid. A tiny white mouse was running laps inside the box. Jie pulled out his wand and gave the mouse a quick jab. It let out a sharp squeal. He cleared his throat. "Lapifors."The mouse's ears shot up but nothing else changed. Jie grinned. He was halfway there. Professor Ross clearly said long ears and a fluffy tail. Now he just needed to get the tail there.
