The door for Defense Against the Dark Arts was wide open late in the evening. The room was filled with a slight leather sent, a smell related to the numerous travels Archer had taken. The room was dark, only lit by the several candles lit all through out the room. The board on the side had scribbles that made out to say: There will be no misbehaving from when the student enters the door until he or she leaves! 1st - Flipendo, Everte Statum 2nd - Rictusempra, Furnunculus 3rd - Arania Exumai, Flagrate 4th - Densaugeo, Reducto
Archer sighed as he took a seat at his desk. Students found it necessary to come as late as possible. The second the class started, the door would be shut. The dummies and necessary equipment sat in the back waiting for the spells to be cast on them.

Jie hurried into the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He was relieved to see that he was the first one to arrive. For some odd reason, he had thought it was much later than it really was. His parents would not have been very happy with him if he had missed a class.
Sighing, he took a seat near the center of the room. He looked over at the dummies. So they weren't going to be practicing on each other. Jie was a little bit disappointed by that.

Katrina moaned when she saw that the only other student in the classroom was Jie. Where is everyone else? She really wished the other students would arrive soon. She did not want to get stuck in a class with only Jie. He would probably try to curse her or something.
Trying to ignore him, she sat away from him.

"Whoa. Small class today." Alex said as he slid into a seat next to Katrina. He didn't actually know her very well but if he had a choice between sitting with a Slytherin and sitting with a Gryffindor, Alex would always choose the Gryffindor.
He looked up at the board and instantly wished he had actually done a bit of reading before class as he had no idea what any of the spells listed did. For a Ravenclaw he sure didn't put much effort into studying.

Cosette followed Alex into the classroom. She loved Defense Against the Dark Arts especially because there was a lot of wand waving during class. But she could not imagine a situation where she would ever need to know it. That's not to say that she was naive. Cosette knew her history as well as the next person. But she could not imagine such awful things happening again.
She took a seat and looked around. Julian hadn't shown yet and there were several other students who had yet to arrive. At least there was still time before class should begin. She pulled out her wand and began to twirl it absentmindedly on her desk.

This class was always one of Maya's favorites. Just because of all the spells people mess up on. She stepped in the room, trying to decide where to go. Cosette was twirling her wand around. Anyone anywhere near here was going to get blasted by some spell soon. So instead she took a seat near the first year Slytherin. He looked harmless enough. And even if he tried, Maya could handle him easily.

"Hello Cosette!"
Ailey skipped to a seat next to her and sat down. She glanced at the board, noting what spells they were going to learn before looking back at Cosette. She liked learning new spells but she preferred charms than DADA mostly only because the different professors.
