May had spent the two weeks before the school year began scrubbing the dungeons from top to bottom. It had been her hope that the gloom of the classroom was simply years of grime. She had been sorely disappointed. It was just not a cheery classroom. Potions already had a bad reputation. She wished that she could change that but it certainly was not easy.
Frowning, she looked around the room. It was as clean as could be. Professor Teranishi had provided her with some beautiful flowering plants that nearly brightened up the room. Nearly, she sighed.
"Oh." She said as she noticed the time. Students would be arriving soon. She quickly took a seat on the edge of her desk and watched the door. She had a great lesson planned today and she could not wait to begin.

"Hi, Professor. I love the flowers." Rowena said as she entered the room. Potions had always been one of her least favorite classes but that was mostly because it was located in the dungeons.
She leaned over a bunch of bright red flowers and sniffed. "Mmmm...they are so pretty."
Grinning she took a seat. Rowena pulled out a notebook, ready for the class to begin.

Jie followed Rowena into the room. He made a failed attempt at holding back a snigger as she sniffed the flower. Typical girl.
Not paying attention to her reaction he chose a seat near the front of the room. It was odd that there was nothing written on the board or simmering in a cauldron on the Professor's desk. Jie just hoped that they were doing something cool, like making a poison or something.

Benjamin wasn't far behind Rowena and Jie. Ignoring the flowers he took a seat near the back of the room. While he usually would sit towards the front of the room, he imagined that Sienna would want to sit near the back. He just hoped that he wouldn't end up entirely surrounded by Slytherins.
He pulled out his Potions book and began to flip through, with occasional glances at the door.

Cosette clapped her hands when she entered the classroom and saw the flowers. She absolutely loved Professor Tunnelly. Of course a part of that was because she was her Head of House.
"Oh, 'ow beautiful!"
Smiling from ear to ear, Cosette took a seat. She could not wait to find out what they were going to learn today. The last Potions class she had, they learned how to make Love potions. It was a lot of fun.

Why oh why was Potions his first class of the day? Alex was not looking forward to having to think and be meticulous so early in the day. Potions was not an easy subject. There were always lots of steps and very exact measurements. It required intense focus and concentration. Usually Alex was good at that sort of thing but today he felt sluggish.
Yawning, he chose a seat near the front of the room. He frowned as he noted that there was not a recipe listed on the board. Usually he liked to look over the ingredients and steps beforehand. But it didn't look like he was going to be able to today.

Ugh, she thought as she entered the classroom. It was always the same group of students in every class, with the exception of two seventh years. But she didn't know the seventh years or dare talk to them.
Wrinkling her nose at the flowers, Katrina took a seat near Jie. "What's up, little demon monkey?"

Christian followed Katrina into the room. He patted her on the head as he passed her on his way to the back of the room. "Demon monkey. Good one." He was going to need to keep an eye on that little Gryffindor. Christian could tell that she was going to be trouble as the year went on.
Spotting Benjamin, Christian slid into a seat next to him. The Hufflepuff had a thing for Sienna. He made it about as obvious as can be. Christian couldn't help but do everything he possible could to make him uncomfortable.
"Hiya Benjamin! How are you today? Sienna was talking about you earlier." It wasn't true but Christian thought it might be fun to get his hopes up a bit.

It was only a short walk from the Slytherin common room do the potions room. Sienna still dragged her feet to the potions room. It wasn't that she hated potions, she just hated the professor. She just got on Sienna's nerves. She scanned the room as she stepped in the doorway. Well of course, Christian had beaten her there. He was sitting by Ben. That would make this class interesting. She slipped into the desk behind Christian and diagonal back from Ben. When she first entered, she swore she heard Christian say her name but she wasn't completely sure.
"If you start talking about me Christian, I will turn you into a Bundimunmore."

Julien didn't just dislike potions, he despised it. He could never figure out the correct ingredients in the correct order just perfectly to create some potion that he would never use. Luckily he saw Cosette was here and that made it a little better.
"'Ay Cosette!"
He said before sitting down next to her.
