Alex was a second year. This meant that he could finally try out for his House Quidditch team. He had practically been counting down the days until he was old enough. He loved everything about Quidditch. He loved the thrill of being on a broomstick. He loved the cheers of the crowd. He loved the adrenaline rush of barely dodging a bludger. He loved the feeling of exhilaration that came along with scoring a goal. This was his world.
And Alex hoped to be good at it. He had been on a broom since before he could crawl. At least that's how his parents always told it. He did feel awfully comfortable in the air. But he knew that being merely comfortable would not be enough for him to make the team. He needed to be really good.
And so, the school year had barely started and he was already out on the Pitch the first chance he got. Every little bit of practice that he could get before the Try Outs was needed.
Alex smiled as he climbed onto his broom and pushed off. He closed his eyes briefly, savoring the wind in his hair. This was heaven.

Christian's original plan was to spend the beautiful day above the ground. He had intended to warm up by flying some loops around the Quidditch Pitch and then to spend the rest of his time seeing how far from the Pitch he could get before he was caught by a Professor. But as he neared the Pitch, with his broom in his hand, he stopped. There was already a student flying around.
Christian held his hand up to his eyes to shield them from the sun. It was a little student. It couldn't be a first year but it was probably a second or a third. He grinned. This could be fun.
"OY!" Christian shouted up at him to get his attention. "You up for a quick match? I'll be right back."
Christian turned around and hurried back into the school. He needed to round up a few more people because clearly if it was just one on one, the poor little kid would be pummeled.

Julien was glad to be back at Hogwarts. While he loved spending time with his family, Hogwarts was also home. In his household, there was hardly any English being spoken. He spent most of the day speaking French or Spanish. It always made things much more stressful and complicated. At Hogwarts, everything was spoken in English and if he really wanted to speak in French, Cosette was always there to reply back.
Since he had no classes, Julien decided to waste the day away outside. Being the Gryffindor Quidditch captain meant he probably should be out practicing or working on the team and practices but he felt it was too early still. So there he was, roaming the grounds looking for something to do.

Cosette was on her way to the library to catch up on her studying when she ran into Christian. She may not like him very much as a person but she had a lot of respect for him as a Beater and a Quidditch Captain. He did know the game really well and was a very great flyer. And, like him, she couldn't resist a chance to play.
Studying was thrown out of her mind as she raced up to her room to grab her broom. She met Christian at the doors and together they hurried back out to the Pitch.

Arriving back at the Pitch, Christian grinned. This looked like the beginnings of a good match. Seeing Julien walking nearby, he called over.
"Oy! Julien! Get your butt over here. We're playing three on three and we need you."
He knew that as a fellow Captain, Julien would not turn down a chance to practice. Seeing that the little Ravenclaw was still on his broom, Christian beckoned him down.
"There's four of us here and there's two more coming. We can play three on three. No rules. Just hard-core, down and dirty Quidditch. First to ten scores wins?"

"Oh so we are having a match then, huh?"
Maya had been in the stands reading a good book. She wanted to be outside just like everyone else. But when she say everyone had the same idea, she went in search for a more secluded area. So there she was out by the pitch when everyone seemed to pure onto it. First a Ravenclaw and then Christian. She was on her way to find a different place to read when Christian had stopped her.
A match did seem like fun. She hadn't had much practice over summer holiday and quidditch was coming up fast. She walked to where the others were gathering, with a broom in hand.

"This better be good, Christian, or it's going to be the last thing you ever did."
Sienna still wasn't sure what she was doing here and how Christian convinced her to play. She had been in the common room sitting by the fire when he came running in. The second he mentioned quidditch, she said no. But then he kept persisting saying how she could cheat.
Well if she could cheat, she could be playing against Christian. She didn't care who her other teammates where, as long as she could do whatever she wanted to him, she was in.

Christian looked around at the group. Three Quidditch captains, two members, and two not on any team. It shouldn't be too hard to split things up mostly even.
"Okay, how about this for teams? Me, Cosette, and...um, you." He pointed at Alex. "Julien, Maya, and the snake on the other team."
The teams may not have been perfectly even but Christian figured Sienna would have similar skill levels as the little Ravenclaw. Julien and Cosette were both good and Maya also knew what she was doing. All in all it should be a good match.
When Christian had ran back out to the Pitch he had brought with him a quaffle. With only teams of three there wasn't much point in worrying about bludgers or snitches.
"Alright, let's go."
He kicked off on his broom and waited for the others to do the same. Once everyone was in the air and someone from each team went to take on the role of keepers, he threw the quaffle up in the air as hard as he could. The game had begun.

Here he was just enjoying the beautiful day and the feel of flying, and next thing he knew he was in the middle of a Quidditch match. Alex had never seen such competitive people before. However, he was one of them. He certainly wasn't go to say no. At the very worst it would at least give him a bit more practice against really good players. That had to be helpful when it comes down to Try Outs.
He hovered over the group as Christian was talking. No rules? Alex checked to make sure his wand was still in his pocket. He couldn't imagine needing to use it while playing Quidditch but if two Slytherins were playing, he couldn't be too safe.
"Alex." he said as Christian didn't seem to know who he was. But Christian ignored him and kept talking.
As everyone else flew up into the air, he immediately went to his team's set of goal posts. Keeper was Alex's favorite position and he as he knew that neither Christian nor Cosette played Keeper, he figured it would be best if he took the spot.
Alex flew a couple of loops around the hoops as watched everyone else.

Cosette kicked off the ground as soon as Christian said to begin. She did a quick loop around the pitch to warm up. The second Christian threw the Quaffle she flew towards where she expected it to drop. She pulled up on her broom at last second and caught the ball with one arm. She turned suddenly and threw it in Christian's direction.
